It was 78 degrees inside my house this weekend which is warm but with a fan it felt really nice. Justin comes home and starts complaining that it is soooo hot. He proceeds to strip down to his boxer shorts and keeps complaining about the heat. I say to him your pregnant wife is supposed to be the one complaining about how hot it is not you. He agrees and brings up the AC to put in the bedroom window which he proceeded to drop out the window. Once he straightens that all out he turns the AC to 64 degrees. I slept in a sweat shirt with sweat pants and a comforter on. Justin sleeps in his boxers with no covers. I think the pregnancy is starting to wear off on him

Reason #1 Justin loves the baby
Justin gets home from work today and looks at me and says the following
Justin "WOW! Your boobs look huge?!?!?!"
Me "I know I am pregnant"
Justin "The baby did that? I just fell more in love with this baby"
And there you have it folks!

Book Review -Belly Laughs: The Naked Truth about Pregnancy and Childbirth
My cousin Kerry sent me the book Belly Laughs: The Naked Truth about Pregnancy and Childbirth as a congrats you are pregnant gift. I finished this book rather quickly (only 150 pages) with a big smile on my face! She made all her experiences so funny, even the things that aren't so laughable. I am hoping my morning all day sickness is about as extreme as my pregnancy gets! She explained her birthing story and how all of the constipation, acne, weight gain, made it all worth it in the end. If you are pregnant or know anyone who is pregnant, this is a great light hearted read that I highly recommend.
Thanks Kerry for sending me a wonderful book!

First comes Love, then comes Marriage....
So I have been on somewhat of a blog hiatus since the end of March. Justin and I found out some big news and it literally made me sick for a month straight. We are expecting our first child! I have had morning sickness morning, noon, and night paired with extremely low blood sugars which have pretty much left me immobile and not much fun. But there is light at the end of this tunnel. Dr says only 3 more weeks of feeling like this and I should be in the clear. As most of you know my husband Justin is a pretty funny guy and since he is pretty much clueless about pregnancy I have listed below the top Five things he has said to me over the past month. Enjoy!
- "You should probably take another test, I bet the positive one is wrong"
- "I will believe you are pregnant when you get your mammogram"
- "You cannot poop? Well make sure you don't push too hard, I heard you can die from that"
- "The baby is the size of a green olive? You just ate a jar of olives, it's like you ate 100 babies"
- "Of course Duke is going to bite the baby"

Book Review - The Bucolic Plague: How Two Manhattanites Became Gentleman Farmers
So I finished reading last week The Bucolic Plague: How Two Manhattanites Became Gentlemen Farmers: An Unconventional Memoir
by Josh Kilmer-Purcell and I have to say I did really enjoy this book. I do have to disclose that I am a big fan of his show Fabulous Beekman Boys
so I may be a bit bias on my book review. I just enjoyed the back story of how they came to find the Beekman and what they had originally wanted from the Beekman. I liked learning more about the characters of Sharon Springs NY. I loved this descriptions of the animals and his relationships with them. I love his love hate relationship with Martha Stewart because don't we all have a love/hate relationship with her? I loved the stories of the zombie flies that never die in the mansion. I love how patient Farmer John is with the two of them. I loved how he did not paint a picture of a magical life on a farm. It was really hard for them and they continue to struggle. Towards the end of the book I truly believed Josh and Brent were going to break up but I have seen their show and the new season has just started on Planet Green so I assured myself that even though the book left me with a feeling of "the end', I knew their story continues on in television land!

Book Review - Sarah's Key
I finally, after almost two years of my cousin Kerry begging me to, read Sarah's Key
by Tatiana de Rosnay. And I have to say I loved the story. It is a fictionalize story of true events that happened in Paris during the summer of 1942. Thousands of Jewish families were arrested and sent to the Ve'lodrome d'Hiver just outside the city limits and then transported to Germany. The story focuses on Sarah Starzynski and her family. The story is neat as it is told in the present day through Julia Jarmond, a American reporter living in France who is assigned to do an article on the 60 year anniversary of the Ve'lodrome d'Hiver. Through her investigation, she discovers Sarah's story and how it is interlaced with her life now. The subject matter was dark but the author left me wanting more. Thanks Kerry for such a wonder read!

Valentine's Day in March
So I am making dinner with my hubby tonight when he looks at me and says
"Hey, isn't Valentines day coming up?"
I look at him lost.
He says "What? I was thinking we can do something special"
I continue to look at him lost
He then says "Oh yeah it is March. Did we do anything for Valentine's day? Did I get you anything?'
I could really have taken advantage of his brain fart but I told him yes we went for sushi and you bought me a second GPS.
Life with him is never dull!!

Book Review - "I'm Not Myself These Days : Memoir"
I just finished reading I Am Not Myself These Days: A Memoir (P.S.)
by Josh Kilmer-Purcell and I have to say I could not put this book down!! The book is about Josh's first year in NY, his life as a drag queen, and a stormy relationship with Jack, his crackhead prostitute boyfriend. I really enjoyed the way Josh narrated the book. I felt like he was sitting across a table from me, re-telling this story. Some parts of the book were dark and sad but other were laugh out loud funny! I love how he chronicled changing over from Josh to Aqua, his drag queen persona. The book is somewhat raunchy and very detailed so it is not a book for the weak at heart!
