So I finally made it back to Zumba last night after a very long hiatus. I have been pretty lazy but class has been cancelled almost consistently since Christmas. The teacher was sick, the teacher's children were sick, it snowed, it snowed again, there was a gas leak, the roof was unsafe. It has been a long New England winter to say the least! The thing with Zumba is I actually have no idea what I am doing and if i have to clap and move my feet at the same time it just doesn't work. It doesn't help that my friend Nina morphs into Patrick Swayze at this class and is always encouraging me to just count the steps, do this, shake your hips like that. But Zumba is the only exercise I have been getting (which from the beginning of this paragraph you can clearly tell is not much) so I go and have fun. And because I felt is was well deserved I went out for two Guinness's after Zumba last night!! Better luck next week!!

Snow on the roof
So all day Saturday I watched all my neighbors climb up on their roofs to remove the snow. It was crazy! They had to snow blow a place to put the ladder and then carefully maneuver the snow rake. When hubby got home we talked about whether or not we should get the snow off of our roof. Then I watched him go outside on Sunday in boat shoes and try to knock the icicles off the side of the house. As I watched him slip and slide all over the ground, I decided the risk of our roof collapsing outweighed the risk of him getting up on the roof!

Book Review- The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho
I picked up The Alchemist
at a used book store at the beginning of January. The Alchemist is about a young shepherd boy from Spain who sets out on a journey to Egypt to discover treasure and his personal legend. I really enjoyed this book!!! The message of the book is that God (no matter what God you believe in) is all around you and wants you to succeed. The only person preventing you from fulfilling your potential is you. The young shepherd meets many people on his journey and learns to read the omens. My favorite quote from the book would be "That's what alchemists do. They show that, when we strive to become better than we are, everything around us becomes better, too." I think this is a good way to think about life and a great book to kick off 2011!!!

I Cannot Turn on the light
So I go to put the laudry away tonight and turn on my bedroom light and the knob to twist the light on feels stuck. I have to use two hands to twist it on to the lowest setting. I yell into Justin:
Me- "hey did you notice something wrong with the light in here?"
Justin -"I fixed it"
Me-"it wasn't broke"
Justin " Don't worrry I fixed it, it is fine now"
after a long pause and a failed attempt at turning it off
Me "Please stop trying to fix things that are not broke"
Me- "hey did you notice something wrong with the light in here?"
Justin -"I fixed it"
Me-"it wasn't broke"
Justin " Don't worrry I fixed it, it is fine now"
after a long pause and a failed attempt at turning it off
Me "Please stop trying to fix things that are not broke"

First Offical Blog
Hello! Welcome to my first blog! I have been toying with the idea of a blog for sometime now and have finally decided to take action. I have lots of things going on between Duke my dog and my funny husband Justin. I am hoping to blog about my likes and dislikes. I plan on doing book reviews and TV reviews. I plan on sharing all the crazy things my husband does because god love him sometimes I question how he has made it this far in life. I may even ask my mom to guest blog because she always has a funny story to tell! Thanks for stopping by!
